ANNOUNCEMENT: Energy Levels

Right, I may have hinted or said something in a post or two about this, but now I am officially bringing it in.

With the fact there are no subs, I think that the same 15 could easily play throughout the season, and I really don't want that, so I have chosen to introduce the following.

Each player starts the season with a 10 out of 10 energy level. He will lose 2 energy level for every game he plays, but will gain 2 for not playing in the firsts game, which will result in playing for the seconds.

I will have a thread called the "Official Season 2 Energy Levels Thead" where I will have a list of ALL players who have signed a contract. There, everyones player energy levels will be listed.

It will take a massive argument and a few brilliant points to get me to change this, as I don't want the same people sitting in reserves all season.

Also, does anybody have suggestions to improve on this idea? As some teams won't have sufficient backup in certain positions. So basically, any suggestions are welcomed.

How much does it affect a player?

So if someone plays for three games in a row, they will be 40% of their full energy level? Bit too much me thinks.

Roughly how many players does each team have?

  4. Eds E Ames

That is what I was thinking. Maybe I should make it out of 100 and a player could lose 15 for each game?

  5. Fungus K Fung

How long is next season again?

  6. Eds E Ames

Well the teams will each play each other twice, and then energy levels will be reset for semis and final. So there will be 8 games per club.

I think make it 15 out of 100 for each game, good idea for the energy levels though.

I say 10 to 15 out of 100 would be about right.

  9. nz0003 JR Denton

If it was 10 you could play the whole season and it would be pretty pointless.

You should gain more then 2 points for sitting out of a game. So, when you're energy is 0 you just can't play?

  11. Tartmaster AJ James

15 out of 100 sounds good.
For the reserves depending on team numbers maybe combine teams and just have 2 reserve teams?

  12. Eds E Ames

    15 should be fine.

Player starts on 100 energy points.
Player plays first game and goes down to 85.
    Second game: 70
    Third game: 55
    Fourth Game: 40

    Maybe 11 would be better?

    Start: 100
    Game 1: 89
    Game 2: 78
    Game 3: 67
    Game 4: 56
    Game 5: 45

That seems good to me tbh. Think we should go with 11.

Bit harsh on players that are key to their teams or their teams playmakers. Or captains :p

  14. nz0003 JR Denton

If that's the case what's the point?

11 x 8 = 88, so you would have 12 by seasons end then it gets restarted at 100 for the finals?

  15. Fungus K Fung

Well, it depends when it starts to affect players and how badly it will.

  16. Tartmaster AJ James

But your players will be shit if their playing at 20-30 energy.

  17. Eds E Ames

That is the point. Brings a good challenge to discover how shite a player will be after a certain energy level.

  18. Bender BG Herd

Should be able to name a player or two that are immune imo.
Or less effected, as a 'playmaker' or some shit.

Eg in league, you wouldn't sub Scott Prince off for the titans or something under most instances as he is important to the team :p

  19. nz0003 JR Denton

Ohhh I'm catching on now, should be interesting.

Definitely a job for the Head Coaches IMO :p

Yeah, it leaves captains with some interesting decisions to make come selection time e.g. is player X on 50 energy better than player Y on 80?

Also, will performance decrease linearly as energy decreases or will performance drop more sharply the more tired a player is?
