in bringing this back? I'd be keen to give it a shot if enough were interested it. If I do it'll be through NBA2K11 most probably, as I've had a play with JumpShot Basketball and I don't really like it that much. For this to work I can either: a) just re-register everyone myself using previous registrations b) have everyone re-register; or c) a combination of both - anyone who wants to re-register can do so, but otherwise the old registrations will be used. All previous teams would continue to exist, but all players would be released of their contracts. So thoughts?
I've spoken to Eggy about it, as he knows 2K pretty well and is running CPL. Atm I'm leaning toward a "match of the round" which I'll post liveish - play-by-play pretty much, and the other will be quarter-by-quarter with play-by-play if the match is tight. Are you okay with me doing this Ryan?
I want to say option B, but i have this feeling that if we go that way, we won't get enough interest to form the 4? teams again. So option C i reckon. That way, those who are dead keen can re-register, and we can get things started, until other people come along. Otherwise we could be waiting a while.
These are exactly my thoughts. I think we'll roll with B to begin with and if we struggle then I'll do C. They'll probably havea penalty though, so yeah.
I dunno, with RUSim starting back up there has been a lot more activity around the forums. If the owners put some effort in, I'm sure they can all get full rosters.
Each player will choose a position and player type. The player type will determine base stats, and then there will be a couple of special stats that people can increase. So to start people will be sort of similar, if they have similar regos, but based on activity and in-game performance they will have their ratings increased. Pretty much how Cribb does CricSim. So if you have a 3pt shooting rating of 70, but shoot 40% across your first 3 games you're rating will be increased by me. Similarly, if you have a 85 rating at shoot 30% it'll be lowered. These ratings increases/decreases will not be revealed though (just like simming averages), so keeping in touch with the game will be pretty important for selection. Yep. Pretty much. There will only be tow games a round to start with, so it won't be too bad. I'm thinknig one "live", play-by-play commentary, or close to it, and one "semi-live", quarter-by-quarter scores and play-by-play in the last if it's tight.
Should only do commentary if the game is close tbph. No point promising a live game and wasting you time on a blow out.
