    Would be much more interesting if people had to choose a load of personal attributes rather than picking events. Clubs would then need to determine what their best event is.

    Wouldn't even have to be too complicated:

    Speed
    Stamina
    Strength
    Jumping
    Throwing
    Technique


    The 100m would be mostly a function of speed and then technique and maybe a tiny bit of stamina, whereas the 1500m would be stamina then speed and very little technique.

    Long jump would be jumping, speed and technique, while pole vault would be just jumping and technique.
