Comparisons

Still doing the ratings formulas so could everyone just compare and choose the best player? I will be doing mostly stuff like key full forwards against half-back flankers and weird matchups so don't choose what player would be more 'influential' or needed or something, just tell me which one you think is a better player and is more valuable.

List Ratings Thread

Well, just finished the ratings for Carlton. Let me know how these look. Have also scaled it down a fraction - don't want too many 99 players in the league as it leaves no room for a future star.

The average isn't an exact average of all their skills - instead it is a very rough average of the key skills they are required with some having more importance than others (hitouts factor heavily to an average for a ruckman, while crumbing would hardly factor at all for them). Overall rating would just be what you see in the game.

Looks okay from here. I think the ratings should be closer though. Like 94/95 to 55/60ish.

 

Yeah, I was having a think about that myself but I concluded that it is easily feasible that Chris Judd is three times the player of someone like Levi Casboult. Maybe not in a literal sense - his handpassing isn't three times as accurate or anything like that, but in terms of an impact on a game he would be averaging 25-30 possessions while Casboult would be getting 7-12. So I think that his impact is probably three times more than someone like that, making the ratings accurate.

What do you reckon?

 

Fixed up the ruck formula which had all the ruckmen slightly underrated and gave a slight stat boost to Carrazzo, Garlett and Betts.

Pretty happy with Carlton's list now after a fair bit of hard work. I had the formula running almost in a circle so it wasn't really working but managed to fix it and get all the players pretty even so that key forwards are similar to midfielders despite the projected points from Ultimate Footy being a lot different.
