Few updates: This thread provides answers to a number of frequently asked questions on this forum regarding CricSim. This thread will be updated as the rules and regulations of CricSim change. What is CricSim? Is realistically an internet version of a Tyrannosaurus rex, a once respected and thriving entity that is now extinct. Does CricSim have a website?Alternate to www.cricsim.com where all our lame jokes and discussions are posted we also have www.cricsim.com/site How long has CricSim been going for now? CricSim has a long storied and sometimes controversial history. Cricsim had been running for about 5 years now but ceased production 6 months ago due to a glitch in the cricsim program Robotronic Organised Battingsim or 'R.O.B'. Can I physically control myself in Cricsim? No, you cannot physically control yourself in cricsim as matches and simulations do not occur. However, posting in your clubs sub forum, CricSim Matches sub forum, CricSim General Discussion and the Social Bar will increase your statistics in the simulator, which in turn will allow you to imagine how much better you'd be playing if the sim still ran. Am I allowed Multiple Accounts? You are allowed to sign-up on www.cricsim.com with as many accounts as your heart desires. Can I register for the Cricket Simulation with all my accounts? Originally no you could not, but this has since been relaxed. If you would like you may apply for your own team and create 22 accounts, register them all and sign them all. Again team balance, post counts and skill will count for little until the sim is running again, which is expected to be 10-12 years away. What are the competitions that I can participate in? The Bannerman Shield, sadly you may not participate in this, much like the USSR, this once powerful organisation has fallen by the wayside. The Avo Lover's Cup, more commonly known as the ALC is the first class competition's reserve grade. Unfortunately you may longer participate in this either The Horrigan Cup, is CricSim's leading One-Day club competition where all the action and excitement of 50 overs cricket is played! Regrettably you may not participate in this. The Horrigan Plate, much like the Avo Lover's Cup is to the Bannerman Shield, the Horrigan Plate is to the Horrigan Cup. Due to an inability to reboot 'R.O.B' you may not participate in this.. The Provincial Championship, sometimes referred to as the PC, is a representative competition for the five official CricSim provinces; New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, New Zealand and Great Britain. It will run at the same time as the Horrigan Cup, as mentioned above. It is the most revered competition in all of cricsim however you may not participate in it State of Origin, is a mid-Bannerman Shield Season Best two out of three series between New South Wales and Queensland. The rivalry is heated and the battles majorly contested with some players being slated as State of Origin specialists. Teams are chosen from the best club players from their respective province. Selectors use a mixture of past performances and recent Bannerman Shield form to choose the sides. Sides will no longer be chosen thus rendering it unparticipatable. SportsTech Pacific Cup, effectively a pointless tournament that gives an encouragement award to the winner. It is a tri-province tournament between Great Britain, Victoria and New Zealand. This tournament is played alongside State or Origin, mid Bannerman Shield. Selectors use a mixture of past performances and recent Bannerman Shield form to choose the sides. Due to their being no Bannerman Shield form picking sides is impossible and you will experience little to no participation in this competition. The Jae Taylor Challenge, is a fixture within the SportsTech Paciic Cup that has been given its own reward due to the rivalry between Great Britain and New Zealand. It is another highly regarded clash that you will not and can not participate in. The Rossleigh Trophy, is the One-Day cricket equivalent to The Provincial Chmpionship and is held after the Horrigan Cup. Selectors use a mixture of past performances and recent club form to choose the sides. Although unlikely, IF the Horrigan Cup itself does start up again so that there is form to go off, you still will not be granted permission to participate in this. Who are the clubs that participate in CricSim? There are currently eight CricSim sides participating in the Bannerman Shield. How do I gain a Board Position? It is almost impossible to gain a board position. Normally positions are available when a Board member is promoted, retires or the President takes a members Board Position away, this generally occurs at the turn of the season, due to an invalid warranty claim on our 'R.O.B' software the season will not 'turn' and you will not be grant a board position. How Do I become a Mod? Normally, you need to show extensive knowledge in the area that requires a Moderator and show that you will be staying around. However criteria for this has changed and as long as you're forum name isn't 'Sultan Pepper' you will, eventually, be given mod status. What is RLSim, Seasonal Rugby, SoccerSim etc...? These are simulators just like CricSim but for their respective sport. Most of the time, they will run in the same or similar way to CricSim, that is not run at all. What is CPL (Insert sport here)? These are selection games based around their respective sport and generally get about 1 third of the way through before everyone loses interest.
