I know, Nigel has been the biggest disappointment out of any player this season. He absolutely ****ing carved it up last season. Averaged something like 130 metres a game. The post count thing probably affected him or he just turned to shit. I have always been shit at making metres in this sim.

Not even close to it. There have been some ****ing crazy performances. I would say Parker or Bots or maybe even Hunt last season have that title.
Nigel's post rank is actually pretty decent. He either fluked it last season or is just in bad form this season.
Because the team would benefit more from having a hooker instead of a utility and Read's spot is the only other place that you would be able to fit into the lineup.
It is hard to say he fluked it considering every single week he carved up. I'd say just really bad form this season.
