unnecessary ambiguity otherwise. being clever for clever's sake just makes you a wanker.

Just saw it with a few of my mates. Enjoyed most of it but really think Batman should have died.

Disagree that Nolan did anything wrong here. If you look at how comic Bane is beat in stories or even the Arkham games (where he is kept pretty close to the comics canon of him)

The way he gets beaten is when someone manages to do something about his ability to pump the toxin into his body to make him the beast that he is. Damaging the device on his body, then hes left quite easy to beat

Obviously in a more realistic universe which this is set in the toxin doesn't exist but they kept the idea of the mask and the device in to keep the character. Obviously in this case its an anesthetic mask which stops him from feeling a huge amount of pain.

They've managed to keep true to the comics in the sense that in order to beat him, batman has had to damage the hardware that Bane uses to have to give him an advantage (the whole no pain thing) and then it turns into a bit of a one sided fight.

Quite frankly in the way they set the universe and the limitations they had to put in it i.e no massive muscle toxin, I think Nolan did an excellent job of sticking with the comics on the issue of how to actually beat Bane

You take the Arkham game and the way you beat him is by making him run into walls, or stun him with batarangs, then throw 2 punches that do nothing then pull his toxin pipes off.

You never take him in a 1v1, fist to fist fight.

This version of Bane is different though, why is that hard to understand? He fux Batman up in their only one on one fight and then later on Batman gets the upper hand by fucking with his mask, which is essentially the way he always gets beat.

No, bane is far superior in 1v1 combat, the movie says he is faster and stronger than Ra's Al Gul who taught Batman how to fight. And Bane knowing his weakness wouldn't let you just punch it 3 times.

Film was alright, plot was decent enough, but the dialogue was woeful at times. Giving batman one liners was cringeworthy ('Now I know how that feels....'). sometimes it felt rushed, over times really simplistic, and struggled when used to force the plot on. Felt really let down by it, especially compared to how masterful the dialogue was in TDK with The Joker

I was thinking more of Azrael vs Bane tbh

the game is clearly set out in a charge and dodge way for games mechanics/fighting sake, all your doing is holding him off until you take away his toxin and gain the advantage

Regarding : And Bane knowing his weakness wouldn't let you just punch it 3 times.

You'd think comic Bane knowing his weakness was an easily accessable single tube taking the toxin to him would be able to stop that as well. But Azrael goes for one vs one fighting with him until he cuts the tube and then takes Bane to the cleaners.

When you have people as awesome and OP as Bane you have to give them a weaknesss somewhere, we saw from the first fight that Batman can definatley land hits on Bane, its not that Banes so skilled in combat that Batman can't touch him at all, its when he does touch him, he cant hurt him. Batman suddenly going all for the weakness isn't going to turn Bane into a better fighter where he can avoid anything and everything

As I said, I personally think it was done as well as it could of been in terms of the conflicts between Bane and Batman, I think your being overly critical for the sake of it

If you're gonna criticise something unrealistic about the film, it would be the fact that cunt doesn't do anything for 7 years, big emphasis on him being a cripple then just decides to be Batman and fux shit up all over the park again. And the whole back-breaking etc seemed a bit glazed over - he's pounding out situps a couple scenes later.

I don't mind the Robin line either. Yeah, it's pretty cliche but I wouldn't think of the character as Robin without it, just as the new Batman.

  12. Roaddogg AJ Izett

plus isnt the comic robin's name dick grayson, or some shit like that?

not john blake or whatever it was in the movie

point being, it wasnt super obvious he was robin, a little bit yeah but not so much so they didnt need the line

  13. Athlai JJD Heads

John Blake is an original character and isn't any of the previous Robin incarnations.

  14. Iridium IT Lee

Well I saw it. Was expecting so much more considering the hype. That said I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It was a good film though.

  15. Pretzel P Retzel

If it wasn't for that line at the end, would anyone actually think of him as Robin?

  16. Mike ML Martyn

Yeah, I picked it quite early on.

  17. Pretzel P Retzel

Obviously he would be the new Batman, but did you think of him as Robin the comic book character? I just thought it was a cool interpretation of the character as a policeman who shoots people rather than fancy gayboy, especially after Nolan said he wouldn't have a Robin. Without that line though he isn't Robin to me, he's just "John Blake", invented for the movie.

  18. Athlai JJD Heads

That line was only to appease Batman mythos tbh. Thats pretty much why Catwoman was in this movie too, because you couldn't have a Batman series without those two characters.

The only significant characters to miss out from this franchise are The Penguin and The Riddler after that IMO and those two are arguably second tier anyway with the likes of Killer Croc, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy anyway.

  19. Tartmaster AJ James

It's funny, as soon as I found out that guy was in the movie i thought, that guy would make a gun Robin.
Then I heard nothing about robin so forgot about it.
    Then he was robin.

  20. Tartmaster AJ James

Riddler >> anyone else mentioned in this post.
