Lucky bastard. Is it pumping for new years over there? I am thinking of spending New Years over in Australia but really have no clue where to go.

So after a good half hour spend wikiying AFL I still have next to none knowledge about AFL.

I wikipedia'd it as well. I sort of get how the game is played but the positions still confuse me (I'm guessing everyone can move anywhere). I even watched a few Youtube videos. I laugh everytime the refs signal a goal.

I'll just wing it like I do with most things.

    It's a retarded game :ninja:

When we played it at school no one had any real idea how to play so we all just crammed around the ball

From what I can gather that's basically it :p

No wonder you think it's a retarded game if you all cram around the ball. :p

Watch some match highlights on YouTube, but try to get it to a single match so you can see more passages of play and understand what it's like - not just a best marks of 2009 video or something like that.

Last 5 minutes of the grand final in '09.

St Kilda are red, white and black; Geelong are navy blue and white.

Yeah, it is. I played for 7 years at junior level and really enjoyed it.

It kinda looks like a no rules thing, use your hands, legs, pass forward or backwards etc. Is it?

Yeah, i am so keen. The one over here in Gisborne is alright but i bet it wouldn't compare to the ones in Australia.

  14. Shagger PW Adams

yeah should come over man. I'm going to pyramid rock festival this year i think.

  15. Mike ML Martyn

Is that better than Falls Festival?

  16. Shagger PW Adams

not sure. i've been to falls which is why im trying out pyramid this year. Falls was pretty amazing though

Gisborne so can't handle R&V. Takes a good 45 minutes to get into a shop only to find once you're in it's all out of the thing you need when it's on.

haha. At falls fest they have heaps of stalls and stuff that sell food.

  19. Mike ML Martyn

The stalls at R&V are expensive as fuck. I think i just went and got a pizza in town once a day.

they were pretty decently priced at falls iirc. Bacon and Egg sandwich for brekky for $2.50. Beers were $4. Spirits $6.
