It's a great game you won't be disappointed. Cept for the fc

Should be a while. It's a good game.

It should be noted that 99% of my interest in Battrick is FC. :p

The absence of FC is awful I agree however as a result the match engine makes a lot more sense (as if I'm right in BT the same engine with a few mods is used for each format). Pretty much everyone who plays both prefers the FTP M.E.

It's far more structured as well... OD matches Friday, T20 Tuesday, etc.

Youth squad is entirely separate to the main squad which is good.

Interface is much, much easier to deal with - and finances are more consistent, far less inflation (due to the 'optional' money sink that is academies). It just makes more sense despite the lack of FC.

Far, far more logical player skills and training system as well.

If yer need any help with anything heaps of us here have a lot of experience (don't listen to weldone though, he doesn't know it yet but he's still learning too)

Only advice I'll give you is invest nothing in academies.... and none of your start up players are worth keeping.

Yep, same. I log on just for the FC but I've too given up on that as the ME is awful. I'm the tard who plays games of ICC but skips all the LO stuff. Much prefer proper cricket in general but for some reason I don't miss it in FTP, the OD stuff just feels right.

I guess the pitches generally are bowler friendly so in most cases teams don't make it to the 50 overs (unless it's a flat/hard pitch) - it makes it feel a lot like FC to a degree as most of the time overs don't matter as one doesn't make them :p

So the protocol is buy buy buy?

  7. Skippos SM Morgan

What's your team called? I'll have a look.

It really depends on your division and who's in it. No point spending money on lads if you're no chance to promote or guaranteed to promote if you buy nobody (as is the case in several low divs) - and in not 'buy, buy, buying' you're saving a hell of a lot of cash on transfer fees and wages that'll be much better used when you actually need to buy.

    St Clair Hawks.

Yeah, you can win T20 quite easily. I might do a list of players on the TM you should go for over the next few days if you'd like?

  10. Hunter AD Hunt

If you've got nothing better to do then I'd appreciate it.

  11. Skippos SM Morgan

I'll do that in a tick. Even if you don't go after them it'd be good for just knowing the types you should look at.

What day and time is it best to put players on the transfer market in order to get the best exposure i.e the most managers online when the player will be closing?

I'd just go for fellas like these. Wouldn't pay more then 3-4K for any except the last who maybe 20K.

They're awful players and they'll only be good for a season or two but you've made a terrible move in choosing Australia as your country as it's so much harder to rise up the levels and also far less sponsorship and gates (I'd advise moving to one of the asian/european countries for next season). But these players should give you enough to win your T20 league anyway at least.

9.30-12.30 FTP time on a tuesday night (as it's when the english/irish/scottish/zimbabwean/dutch are preparing/beginning their SOD games while RSA/Pak/SL/Indian are in the middle of theirs

Incorrect. The ME's are so different it's quite funny - but they're all poor imho. I don't 100% agree with Veez saying FTP is much easier to use and more intuitive - I think that comes down to veez already being a ftper and so bt is different (because I had the reverse happen when trying to play ftp).

But yeah, rate this ftp ME much, much more. Was chatting to the BT chaps on live chat there, and they weren't having it :p But I'm one of the guys who always defended BT whenever people moaned on the forums and stuff (ie a lot) and was called out as naive often. Even I know that this ME is way superior.

And it seems much easier to start out as a new team which is nice.

Oh my team can just go and jump off a cliff.....

I started playing both about the same time and almost gave up on BT because it was so cumbersome. FTP needed almost no manual imo.

The one area I do like of BT is how it keeps the last settings for the TM so you don't have to put in the requirements again.

    Skills
    Batting poor Endurance reasonable
    Bowling reliable Technique reliable
    Keeping dreadful Power poor
    Fielding ordinary

19yo fs. What should I train? Batting or fielding?
