    Do you even recognise him?

List of his victims for the year:

    R1: Devon Smith - 12 touches, 1.1
    R2: Aaron Hall - 15 touches, 2.1
    R3: Lindsay Thomas - 5 touches, 3.1
    R4: Steven Motlop - 15 touches, 3.0
    R5: Ahmed Saad - 6 touches, 0.0
    R6: Rohan Bewick - 12 touches, 0.0
    R7: Michael Osbourne - 11 touches, 0.0
    R8: Hayden Ballantyne - 11 touches, 2.2
    R9: Andy Krakouer - 13 touches, 0.0
    R10: Leroy Jetta - 14 touches, 0.0
    R11: Ian Callinan - 17 touches, 1.2
    R12: Robbie Gray - 24 touches, 1.0
    R13: Eddie Betts - 6 touches, 0.0
    R14: Dean Kent - 11 touches, 0.0
    R15: Devon Smith - 19 touches, 0.0
    R16: Josh Hill - 6 touches, 0.1

Averages 12.3 touches on him a game and has conceded 13.8 in 16 games.

Yeah, Robbie Gray smashed him, and Smith/Callinan/Hall/Motlop/Thomas all held their own, but geez, he's good.

Last year he was even better. I don't think he conceded a goal in his last four games (inc. finals) with opponents of Breust, Porplyzia, Krakoeur and Rioli. Beat Stevie J last year too.

Reckon he's the best shutdown small back going around.

And most people don't even know who he is.

If Lindsay Thomas is kicking 3 goals on you you need to give AFL away.

  3. Skippos SM Morgan

    Lindsay's kicked 45 goals in 13 games this year - 3.4 goals a game :p

Then there are a lot of blokes who need to hang up the boots.

I was totally on him at the start of the season. Had the best month at the start of any player over the last 10 years bar Ablett/Swan/Judd. Was incredible. The the next two months after that everyone began to rate him through the roof and he performed like shit.

Now that people are beginning to think he's the spud of '05-'12 he's beginning to perform well again :p

    Three more shoutouts

Ryan O'Keefe & Kieran Jack. O'Keefe moreso but maaaan these guys are good.

Matthew Scarlett too. Greatest complete fullback of all time. Equal on defence with Silvagni but miles ahead offensively. Certainly the GOAT and certainly isn't considered it.

Nathan Bock. Hasn't had a goal kicked against him in the AFL all season. And people think he's past it. For shame.

    Seriously, Liberatore.

I heard something like he's leading the league in most contested possession or hard ball gets?

  14. jimmy_c8 MC James

He's leading the clearances, not sure about contested possessions or hard ball gets though. He'd definitely be up there.

  15. Skippos SM Morgan

Clearances are about as useless a stat as hitouts, though.

  16. jimmy_c8 MC James

What is actually classified as a clearance? If a guy gets a tiny handball out of a pack to a running player who bursts through the pack and kicks it inside 50, does the bloke who dished the ball get the clearance or is it the bloke who ends up with the ball?

  17. Skippos SM Morgan

Player who has the first disposal in the chain that results in the clearance. Often the inside midfielder with the handball hence Libba's count.

  18. PaulFromOz PF Oz

    That's hardly useless then.
