Might end up keeping Kreuzer for depth unless I get a very good offer.

    Mitchell/Fyfe/Rockliff/Sloane/Hartlett/Ebert/Whitfield/Ball/DSwallow/MacRae

Varying prices but pick your poison.

  5. Dirk Diggler DM Diggler

    How much is Fyfe worth?

  6. Dirk Diggler DM Diggler

    Apart from Tex :p

I drafted Fyfe ahead of Tex and wouldn't really trade Fyfe for him anyway, he's my best player. I need a pretty good fwd (Walker/Dixon), a gun crumber (Motlop) or retention options (I'm pretty comfortable that my squad has the most depth, I've got blokes outside my 22 who'd walk into others sides etc. so I don't mind taking a hit if it ensures long term dominances which retentions will) and from your squad I'd probably say O'Meara, Ellis, Polec, Clarke and Hunter fit that bill.

Dixon would probably be really useful for me. He'd cover the ruck so I wouldn't need to play Ryder (If I drop ryder it'd be such a troll on everyone though, so good). Other than that I'm happy to look at something like Ball for Polec which gives you an immediate boost at cost of potential or something like Ebert for Motlop.

Motlop slipped to round like 17 in out draft. Gotta wonder why you passed over him so many times if he's so good.

Ebert's a gun. Can't believe I'm saying this as I hated him so much at WCE (still stoked we got dangerfield though) but his disposal is now so much improved and he works hard. One of ports best. I don't think your valuation of motlop is wrong, clearly your one of ebert is though.

  12. Mousey AJ Son

Because our draft was fucking ages ago. Motlop was lamost AA, Ebert wasn't even fucking close.

  13. MatthewJay TA Miokovic

I'd take Ebert over Motlop any day of the week.

David Mundy: 143rd, Richard Douglas 268th, Michael Walters 190th, Lindsay Thomas 207th, Daniel Wells 154th, Dan Hannebury 107th, Jack Steven 178th, Nick Malceski 247th, Jarrad McVeigh 144th, Scott D. Thompson 142nd

Yes, Please tell me more about how being in the All Australian squad depicts value on here. Half of these blokes have excellent long term records too, not just one season wonders/breakouts. Just because the bloke was in the AA squad - doesn't make him a top 40 player

When he was drafted he'd already had a pretty good 2012 and had 5 games in 2013, 96 touches and 10.7. Averaging 19 touches and 2 goals a game? People saw that and passed over him. He was a good player in 2012. His first 5-6 weeks of 2013 were excellent and pre his drafting.

Yeah, a good 2012 and a great start. You've been preaching that a small sample size isn't going to make a player all that good.

Look, you're doing a classic Skippos here. Talk up your player, twist everything to give yourself an advantage/perceived advantage and laugh to yourself when someone takes the bait.

Everyone should just ignore anything you say regarding your players in trades because you're Essendon.

  16. Skippos SM Morgan

Of the three people to voice an opinion two of them think Ebert's the better option. Maybe you're the outlier here.

I've preached sample size in cases where blokes go through a purple patch. 5 good games after 5 years of mediocrity isn't going to make a player a gun just like 5 good first games in a career won't either.

However when a player is what? 20 and has a good season, then at 21 has a great first quarter of the next, it's normally pretty safe to assume that it's age related improvement especially when the signs were obvious. I've got no reservations in saying that Tyson and Polec's first two games of the season were enough for them to get a pretty reasonable boost. Obviously they're not elite yet like their first two games were but 2 games were enough for me to turn them from 22nd in Tyson's case and 25th or so in Polec's case best players in a team into top 12-13 players. If they continued going they'll move into the top 7-8. Likewise Motlop. He was one of the best smalls around when I created the rosters; yeah, he's gone up since but he was still an excellent option at the time and blokes passed on him.

In a game with reasonable levels of retention and prone to gaps between seasons you'd have thought his potential would have been worth something anyway, it's not like it was always about the here and now.

  17. Mousey AJ Son

So you think Ebert's the better option, but you're willing to offer him up for Motlop? ITSTL.

  18. Skippos SM Morgan

If I were drafting a team from scratch I'd pick Ebert first.

However I've got greater balance considerations and given that Luke Ball is the 22nd player named on my team sheet I can cover Ebert with Ball without much worry. However a small forward line which consists of Tom T Lynch, Sylvia and Wright is just unacceptable. As players they're all worthwhile but balancewise I hate it. Lynch and Sylvia are similarish players liking to play up the ground between the wing and half forward and aren't great at ground level whereas Wright is okay at ground level but is far more valuable up the ground/forward tagging.

I just don't have anyone to mop up the spills, and given that KPFs are my weakest division I really need blokes capable of that. Not only that but there's such a lack of forward pressure and I'm giving teams that have 3 elite rebounding backs a free run at slicing me up out of defence.

  19. Mousey AJ Son

You'd be an idiot to take Ebert first. There are only a handful of guys who can cut you up like Motlop can. There are 100 Eberts.

  20. Skippos SM Morgan

Also only 1 guy in the league who gives away free kicks like motlop does

    also injuries
