    Brooks is retarded, you can tell by his jaw and cranial structure. Never thought he'd be any good as soon as I saw that face regardless of how much everyone was saying he was gonna be good. Just looks too dumb and lost.

    I think Brooks is just a victim of coming into First Grade far too early. The signs were there right from the beginning that he had undeniable talent but it was also very evident that he had a long way to go in his development.

    I'm a big fan of halves really not being given key roles until as late as possible & going through unconventional development paths. It's not so much their skill level but just maturity, dedication and knowledge of the game IMO.

    I think there's a lot to be said for the development of halves like Fittler & Daley who spent large parts of their early careers in the outside backs and at lock before finally locking down the 5/8 position.

    Ben Hunt, Cooper Cronk & Jonathan Thurston who spent seasons being utility players for their side before locking down a half spot.

    Darren Lockyer & Michael Morgan who spent time at fullback and in Morgans case all over the park.

    Or a player like DCE who went on to play a full season of reserve grade after graduating from the NYC before making his debut.

    I think it just allows players the freedom to work on their game, find out what works for them and what doesn't, study the game and get a good understanding of the interdependence of positions by not having the pressure of having to turn up every week ready to be the leader of the team, a position they're not yet ready for.

    Being a half is so much about knowledge and understanding of the game and I think young players don't get to develop that when they're thrown straight into first grade. There are some exceptions to this but generally I think it seems to hold true.

    Brooks is the second coming of Daniel Mortimer.

    He literally cannot ball play. I've never seen someone make the wrong decision as often as him. He looked decent at times under Potter but with Taylor he's legitimately the worst half in the comp.

    I think a lot of that has to do with Brooks playing a more off the cuff structure under Potter, Taylor was a really structured organising 7 and asking Brooks to play that style doesn't suit him at this stage and is hindering his development, he needs a controlling 7 to run the forward plays and the ability to get 2nd receiver ball with licence to play what's in front of him, he's a genuine 6 albeit not a great one

    Grevsmuhl to the Panthers confirmed by Gus.

    Think his best spot is in the middle third but will be interesting to see how they balance the likes of Peachey, Taylor, Merrin and him.

    Had him in NNRL last season so watched him a fair bit. Will be a really decent buy for the Panthers, strong runner but I do remember him losing possession a fair bit when he hits a short ball near the line.

    Yeah must have been something bad.

    I read when he was a junior Warrior he turned up for training reeking of piss so bad that Mannering told him not to get too close to the coaching staff or they would smell it on him.

    He was fucking horrid in his 1 game. Dropped the pill everytime he had it, and gave away penalties, IIRC.

    Yeah, he was close to the worst signing we've had. Plays one game, easily a 1/10 performance, gets suspended and gets injured for the rest of the year, before getting released.
