    Nightingale and Perrett are swapable...

Lima has killed it in the ESL this year, just got motm in the Challenge Cup Final.

Pretty good depth this year round when you consider they can still call on the likes of Asotasi, Mckendry, Matulino, Hargreaves & Eastwood if needed.

    You dropped Mannering?

  3. Julian BJ Taylor

Surely he just forgot about him....

Fulminate all you like about Johnson and Lyon. I am so sick of Australian sides being picked purely on attack with the mentality that our potency with the ball will blow everyone else out of the water, and then when it doesn't happen we're surprised that we concede points so easily against sides containing the likes of Marshall, Pritchard, Brown, Fien, Luke etc. It's remarkably conceited to pick a side with that methodology afaic.

Gallen, Smith and Johnson in the team assures a tight line in the middle where someone like Shillington up front or Bird at lock would not. Hence Gallen starting with Shillo on the bench. It would be nice to have Parker too as his attack is obviously three times as good as DJ's but he's just not as good in defence and that's the area in which a lock must be proficient IMO. I actually think although Lewis would make a good centre particularly in defence (low tackling), his defence as a forward is actually quite poor. As is Bird's so again we need someone to counteract these deficiencies rather than just picking even more attacking potency and hoping to bridge the gap.

If Lyon is unavailable then I'd pick Tate. I want someone who can tackle.

Why everybody is picking Cronk as utility I do not know. What's Gidley done wrong (this time)?

Pretty sure he's having off season surgery along with SKD

Jack Reed could get picked in either England or Australia's squad TBH.

  8. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Reed should do whatever his heart tells him. Obviously I hope he chooses Australia so he can play for QLD (which I certainly think he will one day).

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

He will pick QLD now that he knows he can make it. I reckon he was just doing a Fien/Webb kinda move.

  10. Julian BJ Taylor

    Carroll ^^^

  11. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Yeah, he chose to play for QLD and Australia because he couldn't crack the Kiwi squad...

  12. Julian BJ Taylor

He chose New Zealand because he couldn't make the Aussie squad tbh.

    He was no Luke Ricketson.

  13. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

That squad was a joke, TBF.

  14. Alec AD Funkotron

I'm pretty sure Reed mentioned a few times he prefers QLD, since apparently he lived most of his life here or something. Clearly playing for QLD and Australia is superior to playing for England though, and he can definitely make the QLD side if he doesn't decline.

    AWT big time.

  16. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

Funny thing is, Fien would be one of my 1st picks for Qld these days as the bench hooker. He is a machine. Shame that at the time he was a pretty shit halfback.
