With Alec's retirement I'm left with 16 registered users. This is enough to get the group stage under way and use the existing 16 or instead wait for 16 more to sign up and have a straight knockout.

First person to post what they'd prefer will decide what is done.

    Group alpha
    Tartibartfest
    The Situation
    Sultana Piranha
    Kurt Corgan

Tipping Tartibartfest as the favourite early.

    A.
Tartibartfest V Kurt Corgan call agreed, Tartibartfest calls heads on preferences, Kurt Corgan tails.

And we're underway! The coin goes up, flipped a little harder than neccesary and hits office light, scoots along floor and rests in the corner, the winner:
    .
Tails! Kurt Gorgan gets the win, pretty big upset this early.

    The Situation V Sultana Piranha
call agreed, The Situation calls heads on preferences, Sultana Piranha tails
Coin flipped, bounces, spins for a few seconds and comes to rest at the foot of my office chair. The result...

Heads! The Situation makes it look easy and surges ahead.

    B.
Tartibartfest V Sultana Piranha Call agreed, Sultana Piranha takes tails on preferences, both sides staying with calls that lost them their opening matches. The loser of this one is going home.
Stock standard toss this line, coin goes up and near stops dead on the floor, As many predicted Tails never fails in new south wales. Sultana Piranha the victor.

The Situation V Kurt Corgan call agreed, Situation takes heads on preferences, both undefeated at this stage with the winner almost assured a spot in the quarters.

And over she goes, coin tossed onto desk, bounces off the wall, spins a moment then comes to rest, producing a head! Situation 2 from 2

    C.
The C lot of matches see's some exciting match ups, Corgan V Piranha for a spot in the Quarters and bartfest looking to salvage some pride against the undefeated situation.

Tartibartfest V The Situation Call agreed on second choice preferences, Tartibartfest get's the heads and the Situation makes the change to tails

And up she goes, a quick bounce off the wall and rests next to my eraser, The Situation shows his class with the call change and picks up his 3rd win in a row as tails prevails.

Sultana Piranha V Kurt Corgan We've got a big crowd in at the mint for this one, two fan favourites, Call agreed on second choice preferences, Corgan takes tails, Piranha heads

A hush falls over the crowd, the atmostphere is electric down here, I've even turned down Itunes to build the suspense. Coin goes up.

Off the calculator and into a heavy spin.
    Spinning
    Spinning
It comes to rest at Tails! Boos and jeers can be heard from the crowd. Corgan comes up with the goods under pressure and surges into the finals:

    Final standings:.W...L
    The Situation.....3...0
    Kurt Corgan.......2...1
    Sultana Piranha..1...2
    Tartibartfest.......0...3

    4 tails, 2 heads

    *spectates*

Is this a noisey event like Basketball or quiet whilst tossing like Golf?

Go nuts man, it's like an Indian Cricket game down here at the mint.

    An exciting first toss tbh.

Also I'll be looking to call the GF live with the two finalists.

    Group Beta
    Tails The HedgeHog
    S Masters
    Ince Ince Baby
    J Marler

    Moneys on Incey
    A.
Tails The Hedgehog V J Marler call agreed on preferences, Tails the Hedgehog takes tails, Marler the heads.
Up we go, onto the desk, into a spin and onto the floor resting at my office chair. The result is hard to tell due to the dullness of the coin.
On closer inspection we have a head. Marler with a good win

S Masters V Ince Ince Baby
call agreed on preferences, Ince Ince Baby goes with heads, Masters takes tales.
Up she goes and down shes comes, one of the flattest landings yet, the most dominant heads we've seen all competition. Ince takes the honours

    B.
Tails the Hedgehog V Ince Ince Baby
call yet again agreed on preferences, Ince sticking with heads, Tails the tails.
Into the heavens she flies, bouncing of the desk and landing in my lap revealing a dull head. Ince Ince looking a shoe in to progress.

S Masters V J Marler call agreed on preferences, Marler Heads, Masters tails.
Bit more of a sideways toss this time around, skipping across the desk and falling next to the fair trading notice about the overdue BAS statement.
And would you believe it's more head, like a 14 year old slut we're seeing plenty of head but not giving up any tail. Marler with another victory.

    C.
S Masters V Tails the Hedgehog bit of a dead rubber this one, but an interesting predicament, both have preference of tails and and choosing the left hand of the referee. In this case the call goes to the first registered which in this case is Tails the Hedgehog, Masters will have to settle for heads.

Up she flips majestically much like Greg Lougainess, twirling and spinning before clipping the edge of the key board and revealing yet another head! Masters salvages a bit of pride.

Ince Ince Baby V J Marler
Ince takes tails on second preferences, Marler sticking to heads, the winner of this looking to join the Situation undefeated in the quarters.

Away we go clear of the desk this time and straight onto the tiled office floor, remarkably revealing yet another head! Making it a straight heads round.

    Final Standings:........W....L
    J Marler..................3....0
    Ince Ince Baby.......2....1
    S Masters...............1....2
    Tails the Hedgehog.0....0

    0 tails 6 heads
