    Yeah awta. I'd always pictured the final moment of the show being Ted say hi to the mother.
    Yeah which is why I think it sucks a bit more. Characters change and develop over 9 years so sometimes the original ending isn't the best one

    Yeah fair enough.

    Just looking at season 6 there were some really decent episodes there, maybe not hilarious television, but Last Words and the episode where Barney meets his father were really well done.

    That ending annoys the shit out of me. Through most of the entire series I thought Robin and Ted should end up together and I was set that nothing would change my mind. When the actual mother was introduced I felt a bit let down with the choice but eventually she grew on me. I only just in the last few episodes finally let go of the idea that Robin and Ted should end up together and really did think the mother should be the one Ted ends up with and straight away they kill off the mother and he ends up with Robin >_>
