In all honesty, I'd prefer we ignore the idea for weather and keep the 5 Day BS games. 4 Day games are too short for my liking
If you read the conversation you would've also read I'm not necessarily for 4 day games. Just saying they're a better alternative to "weather".
The reason we don't have weather - or indeed, four day games - is that it would create more debatable declaration decisions. I don't want to cost a team a game with an early/late declaration as it clearly wouldn't be their fault if I did that. Five day games with no delays produce a pretty small amount of draws, so there's less chance for a declaration I make that the CoS would have made earlier/later to be a problem.
And that was the end of that I guess. Was just about to add that 5-Day games almost always give us a result.
I can't believe some people are actually behind this idea. The reason Boob wants it is so his team can fluke avoiding the spoon by getting draws due to the rain more than others. It adds very little except frustration to teams who are going to win only to be ****ed over by rain, or players who are batting/bowling well only to be stopped by the rain. draws are boring as shit, who the **** wants to draw besides a shit team with no hope? I like that we don't have shitloads of draws, because then the whole of the comp would truly just be a lottery.
Give weather a chance at least. Or at least 4-day games. Makes captaincy having more skill. At this stage captaincy is just naming a lineup. And that takes skill, doesn't it. . Live captaincy would be gun if implemented, although I'm not 100% sure whether it'd be feasible.
lol - nearly a thousand views on this thread in under 24 hours. Boob can draw a crowd to even the most boring of discussions.
