Yeh when I cbf/each team actually has an updated thread (or makes one, for a start)

Here is mine, really happy with my mix of bigs and smalls on the offensive end and my midfield should be around a "playoff" midfield standard. Defense and depth are fucking ugly though

Your forwards are gun, your midfield is alright, your defence is below par and your depth is abysmal. You're 4 players short there for one (30, we all have 34) and you've not no KPDs for if one goes down.

  4. MASTERS S Masters

    my team thread is updated

  5. morgieb MC Burridge

Gonna restart this. I've still got a fair few to do, but first, an update.

Still stand by the "best" (idc about Franklin's mediocre season, talk to me after 2014), but I think Pavlich is the worst now. Was pretty meh when he did play, and spent a lot of time injured.

(yes I have the advantage of hindsight, but I don't give a fuck :p)

Best: Roughhead. Was brilliant this season, and has an arguable case of being the top KPF in the comp (he did win the Coleman), and he can ruck relief too. In hindsight it's brilliant work from Jabba. Fyfe an HM, as are Beams and Swallow.

Worst: Judd I think. A reasonable pick at the time but has seriously declined IMO, if we were drafting now he probably would not go until Rd 4/5 at least. Doubt that Gibbs and Petrie were worth the early pick either, and while Cyril is a quality player, he's not the sort of guy to build your side around.

Best: On this season, probably Minson. Taking age into account though then it becomes trickier. Goldstein, Kreuzer and Leuenberger come into contention, Leuy probably the best as he went later.

Worst: Still Smith. Dishonorable mentions to Mumford and Jacobs based on this season, though it could well be just a rough patch for them.

Best: Jack and Griffen, for mine. Both are utterly gun mids, and Griffen in particular has taken a major step up this season. Darling, Reid and Ryder are all pretty strong picks too, given the age of Darling, Reid's versatility and reputation, and Ryder being a better ruck than many picked ahead of him.

Worst: On this season, Jetta. Dozens of better mids available. Jury still out on Hurley and Patton so they weren't great picks either, neither was Brown who is lacking in the offensive department and hasn't been hyped as an absolute gun defender IIRC.

  9. brettman135 BR Hall

Disagree with that. How many better key forwards were taken after him?

  10. morgieb MC Burridge

    In hindsight, Cameron.

    Taking age into account, Darling.

Probably a couple of others I can think of.

Petrie is a good player, but he's a bit of a downhill skier IMO and isn't young. End of second round was a reach though it wasn't really a shocker.

Cameron yes, Darling in the long term but right now Petrie is a better footballer than him.

  13. Benny BS Read

  14. Mousey AJ Son

I don't think Darling has too much room to grow, personally.

  15. Youngman JE Harding

Petrie > Darling by so much

  16. brettman135 BR Hall

Very much a lead up forward, don't see him ever taking many contested marks.

  17. Skippos SM Morgan

I do. I think he's got loads of upside.

    Loads.

He might never be truly elite but he'll be a much better player at peak than now.

p.s. anyone keen to spend an hour or two helping me out to get this going? I'm really stretched for time.

Best: Cameron. I'm pretty sure he'd go first round if we were doing a draft now. HM to Rockliff, who's turned into a true A-grade midfielder over the last couple of months.

Worst: O'Brien by far, can be good but is kinda inconsistent, a lot of what I said about Hertier still applies, and he's not a 5th rounder. Merrett is 2nd, as while he's good there were better options at the time.

  19. Skippos SM Morgan

    Bellchambers....

  20. Mousey AJ Son

I think he's already a damn good player. He kicked 50 goals in 2012. I don't think he's going to be a no. 1 forward.
