Listening to the new Radio Moscow album. Was a long day at school staring at the clock waiting until I could go home and give it a listen. It's certainly more blues sounding than their previous two albums, and way more instrument based, it plays as one hour long jam as opposed to 12 individual songs. It's been 5 years and they are still yet to write a song that trumps their song "Frustrating Sound", nevertheless The great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz is a refreshing sound.

Well tbh I'm yet to get any abuse here for being an Oasis fan so there's no banter to be had it would seem. And also I just sat and listened so cbf to do track by track. But it's amazing. If you like what's regarded as Noel's best work (Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory, early b-sides) but don't want to here him trying to rehash old glories - you'll like/love this. It's fantastic.
i listened to it. has to be one of the laziest albums i've heard of late, because i swear they used exactly the same synth on every single track.
Noel's album squeezing its way into my top ten. Top five might be under threat. We'll see how the dust settles but it's pretty clear that he's still the fucking chief.
On reflection the second half of 2011 is proving to be pretty decent for music. The new releases from Radio Moscow, Tom Morello, Gaslight Anthem, Sheepdogs all being top notch and then "Yours Until the Bitter End" - The Bloody Hollies is easily the album of the year.
OMFG Corrin to cream himself, I suspect. Despite the photo making them look as decripid as the Strolling Bones, I hope they can reproduce some of the old magic.
Although I obviously wasn't around back then I certainly find their work a breathe of fresh air after the abysmal that was the 80's.
I was never really into them at the time, but caught on in the late 90s. I preferred the Charlatans, Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream of the early 90s type sounds. I was also never into the Smiths, but I was really a bit too young for them anyway.
Ive liked many releases from this year. Rat vs Possum Puro Instinct Ponytail Pets with Pets Panda Bear Jesu Ghoul Deafeater Deerhoof Black Lips Brian Eno Balam Acab Akron/Family Good year IMO.
Don't mind the new justice stuff, hard to follow up that massive debut album of their's. Also heard some good stuff from madeon, certainly getting harder and harder to find dance producers churning out good stuff rather than just dub step garbage.
