Yeah, I agree. I don't think anyone actually trolled in here at all - it's a genuine argument. And it's a far more interesting thread than it would've been without the argument in it.
You're confusing time with behaviour I'm afraid. Repetition belongs in the latter. We all knew George Harrison was going to die from cancer and it went on for years - Did it null or void our sympathy or emotion in any way? Hardly. It has nothing to do with inevitability IMO, and everything to do with people's opinion of her and the way she lived. You even echo this point when you say "if she had cleaned up her life" - Well therein lies the difference and the point I'm trying to make. It was her behaviour and her persona afaic.
Really don't get why people hate on Winehouse because of her lifestyle choices. Haters gonna hate I suppose.
Combination of jealousy and contempt I'd say. Some people find it especially hard or frustrating to see another person with that which they covet - money, fame, opportunity - and yet treating these things so frivolously and disposable. Basically, I think some people resent being reminded about how covetous they can be of the aforementioned things, most of which are extremely trivial. It's like that thread about the $100,000 razor. My resentment is mostly borne of antipathy at the recklessness and selfishness but also a tinge of jealousy. I wish I was in a position to be able to afford to throw around cash like that.
Not surprising she passed away so young, given her obvious problems. She deserves some respect and compassionate however, rather than having idiots like SM dancing around her grave in this thread. She wasn't a serial killer FFS. RIP.
